Text Description: Qocp - older caldera wall rocks (Pleistocene). Plug. Massive intrusive exposed on Akutan Peak in wall of present caldera. Rock, collected from talus at foot of peak, is a medium gray, porphyritic basalt (51.1% SiO2, loc. 8, table 1) containing phenocrysts of plagioclase (15-30%, 4 mm), clinopyroxene (1-6%, 2 mm), and olivine (1-5%, 1 mm) in a cryptocrystalline groundmass.
