| Text Description: | Basaltic andesite volcanic ash and lapilli. Sample is bulk from 4 m below base of cliff on talus slope. Possibly useful, but lots of lava chips rather than scoria. Overall, deposit ranges in size from boulder to fine sand. Lapilli- and ash-sized clasts biasedly selected. Relatively fresh, crystals are somewhat rare, needs wash+HL. Oliv, plag? |
