Text Description: Hand sample; >20g. Freshest block in lithified diamict that forms Shag Rock, which is part of or more likely fell from SW cliffs of old diamicts and lava flows(?). Dark gray (80%k)(4) lava. >10% cpx to 4mm, equant. Abundant plagioclase (plag) laths (0.3 x 2 mm) which may be microphenocrysts. Dark gray groundmass - sugary but microcrystalline. Light olive cast may reflect pervasive water migration along fine voids.
