Text Description: Basaltic andesite sample with coarse plagioclase from a series of overlapping lava lobes, each with well-defined levees. 1500’ asl. Appears to overlie 88VS19. Porphyritic basaltic andesite with phenocrysts of plagioclase (8%, up to 2.2 x 0.8 mm), and microphenocrysts of olivine (1%, 0.4 mm diameter) in a fine-grained groundmass of plagioclase laths (200 x 20 microns) with interstitial pyroxene, microcrystalline material, and sparse glass.
