Text Description: Another sample of same lava bench as 88VS22. 1020’ asl. Fine-grained basaltic andesite with sparse microphenocrysts of plagioclase in a groundmass composed of 70% large plagioclase laths (0.5 x 0.1 mm), interstitial mafic crystals and microcrystalline to hypocrystalline material. Olivine microphenocrysts up to 0.5 mm long, many with quench crystallization morphologies, are a common minor constituent.
