Text Description: Sample from outcrop surrounded by snow @4360 ft elevation in divide between Douglas and Fourpeaked. Porphyritic two-pyroxene andesite. ~50% phenocrysts of plagioclase (up to 1.3 x 0.8 mm), pyroxene (up to 1.3 x 0.3 mm), and opaque Fe-Ti oxides in a matrix of devitrified glass and subordinate microphenocrysts and microlites.
