Text Description: Amphibole andesite sill. One of 4 to 5 sills intruding black silty shale exposed along the shore of Sukoi Bay, 15 km east of Douglas. Buff-weathering with gray-green interior, locally extensively weathered. Amphibole andesite containing ~ 15% brown, opacite-rimmed amphibole up to 4 x 1 cm (typically 1 x 0.2 cm); 35 % altered plagioclase phenocrysts, and patchy chloritic pseudomorphs after pyroxene in a microcrystalline matrix.
