Text Description: Very fresh, highly fractured andesite outcrop at 2300 ft elevation between Spotted and striped glaciers. Appears to be very young. Porphyritic olivine andesite containing ~25% phenocrysts of olivine (20%, up to 1.2 x 0.6 mm), pyroxene (3%, 0.6 x 0.3 mm), and plagioclase (2%, 0.6 x 0.2 mm) in a matrix dominated by interlocking plagioclase microlites (200 x 15 microns) and pyroxene (20 microns). Olivine phenocrysts contain euhedral translucent brown chromite octahedral.
