Text Description: Sample from isolated lava outcrop at 200 ft elevation in striped glacier valley Porphyritic andesite. ~60% phenocrysts and microphenocrysts of plagioclase (up to 1.0 x 0.3 mm), and pyroxene (typically 0.6 x 0.3 mm), in a groundmass composed of about 50% brown glass and microphenocrysts on microlites of plagioclase, pyroxene, and opaque oxides. Pl:px ~ 3:2. A minority of the plagioclase phenocrysts have sieved zones, the rest are nearly free of disequilibrium textures.
