| Text Description: | Sample from base of flow between Spotted and striped glaciers. Porphyritic andesite. ~50% phenocrysts of plagioclase (typically 1.0 x 0.3 mm), and pyroxene (typically 1.1 x 0.4 mm), in a groundmass composed of about 50% brown glass and microphenocrysts on microlites of plagioclase, pyroxene, and opaque oxides. Pl:px ~ 3:2. A minority of the plagioclase phenocrysts have sieved zones, the rest are nearly free of disequilibrium textures. | ||||||||||
