Text Description: Sample from avalanche deposit; clast-supported; blocks to 1-2m diameter. Matrix-supported block and ash flow deposits (which entrained minor amounts of rounded stream cobbles) also exist nearby. Porphyritic two-pyroxene andesite. ~30% phenocrysts of plagioclase (up to 1.2 x 0.6 mm, but typically smaller), pyroxene (up to 1.0 x 0.5 mm, but typically smaller), and opaque Fe-Ti oxides in a matrix of devitrified glass and subordinate microphenocrysts and microlites.
