Text Description: Sample from distal end of package of flows west of striped glacier. Porphyritic two-pyroxene andesite. Phenocrysts of plagioclase (25%, typically 1.1 x 0.4 mm), pyroxene (20%, up to 1.7 x 0.3 mm), and opaque Fe-Ti oxides in a matrix of coarse plagioclase microlites (typically 30 x 200 microns) smaller pyroxene and oxide crystals, and tens of percent of tan glass. Most plagioclase crystals have well developed sieve textures trapping brown glass in patches several tens of microns across.
