| Text Description: | Sample from 1440 ft elevation on flow between Spotted and striped glaciers. Porphyritic andesite containing 30% phenocrysts equally distributed between plagioclase (0.8 x 0.5 mm), olivine (1.0 x 0.5 mm) and glomerocrysts of pyroxene and plagioclase (1.5 mm diameter) in a groundmass of plagioclase microlites (150 x 15 microns) with intergranular pyroxene and minor devitrified glass. |
