Text Description: 1x1 ft sample. Tephra deposit was 4.5 inches thick and overlay winter snow. The deposit was in turn overlain by more recent spring snows at the edges of its exposure. The sampled deposit was exposed at the surface of a glacier by the overlying post-eruption snow having melted off. Deposit was more likely air-fall and not a flow deposit based on deposit characteristics.
