Text Description: 3 cm thick. Small pods of tephra occur over 1.1 m laterally within dark brown, organic-rich silty flood-plain deposits. Locally, the organic-rich silt is capped with a peaty bed and grey silt. Tephra is cut by an ice wedge cast and is located 16 m above river level (Elias et al. 1999).
