Text Description: |
Only found at Site B of Chester Bluff. At Site B, the Beaton Pup (BP) tephra is 3.25m above CR where it forms a continuous white bed up to 0.5 cm thick with slightly diffuse upper and lower contacts. BP is deposited in massive loess that is rich in rootlets and small wood. It is laterally continuous over at least 4m. Glass morphology that contains bubble-walled and tri-cuspate shards, but also frothy inflated pumice. Contaminated with detrital material, making it difficult to determine phenocryst populations. The composition reported was calculated from analyses of two samples: UA1226 and UA1227. |
