Text Description: Tephra 1. The lowermost part of the area exposed shows ~1.5 m of grey loess, with a weakly developed paleosol. A short distance above this paleosol, a tephra, identified geochemically as the Sheep Creek tephra occurs over a lateral distance of ~5 m. The Sheep Creek tephra is in turn overlain by 1 to 2 m of grey loess.
