| Text Description: | Sample collected by T. Plank. Dark ash and soil layer, no plant roots, located above Akutan Village. Phenocrysts of plagioclase, clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene, and trace olivine. 5% lithics. Map unit Qtu (Richter et al., 1998). Yielded olivine- and clinopyroxene-hosted melt inclusions. No whole rock analysis was attempted because of soil contamination. |
