Description: Coats (1950) reports smoke from Pavlof in 1852. Hantke (1955) reports this eruption as from the 'southern vent', but Jacob and Hauksson (1983) report that this was not an eruption, but rather solfataric activity and steaming from a vent high on the north flank.
