Kupreanof 2015/4
Start: April 11, 2015 [1]
Stop: April 11, 2015 [1]
Event Type: Not an eruption
- Fumarolic or hydrothermal activity [1]
Description: From Dixon and others, 2017: "A mariner report of 'black smoke northwest of Ivanof Bay' was received at AVO on April 11, 2015. The probable source of the observation is Kupreanof Volcano where a known fumarolic field has persisted for decades (Yount and others, 1985b). Although reports from Kupreanof are uncommon, steaming from Kupreanof has been noted for at least the last 75 years and was last reported in the AVO annual summaries in 1994 (Neal and others, 1995). AVO took no further action on this isolated report."
