Description: Coleman (1946) reports that "There were eruptions of Katmai on a smaller scale in 1914, but the volcano is now quiet." However, Hildreth (1983) states: "Published compilations notwithstanding, there are no credible reports of historic eruptions in the Katmai group except at Novarupta in 1912 and at Trident in 1953 - 1968."
