Description: Grewingk (1850, translated 2003 by Fritz Jaensch) writes that Lutke reported Kanaga smoking in 1827. It is uncertain if this "smoke" was simply fumarolic activity from Kanaga's active fumaroles or if it was from an actual eruption.
