Great Sitkin 1818/7
Start: July 28, 1818 [1]
Event Type: Explosive
- "Smoke" [1]
Description: Golovnin reports that on June 28, 1818, he could see a high mountain on [Great] Sitkin emitting smoke. It is uncertain if this reference to "smoke" is evidence of an actual volcanic eruption, as Great Sitkin also has prominent fumaroles that are often steaming.
