Description: Grewingk (1850, translated 2003 by Fritz Jaensch) reports that Shelikhov reported Mt. Moffet active in 1784, with hot springs. However, Mt. Moffet does not appear to have had any historical eruptions, and perhaps the eruption was from Great Sitkin instead (Hantke, 1951; Simkin and Siebert, 1994; and Waythomas and others, 2003).
