Description: Jones (1951) reported minor ash showers and fume emissions from Akutan in 1951, and he also (Jones, 1952) reported that during October 1951, the lower slopes of Akutan showed fresh black ash on top of the snow, but the summit of the volcano was concealed in cloud.
