Description: On December 6, 2017, citing increased seismic and infrasound activity at Shishaldin over the past few weeks, AVO raised the Aviation Color Code and Volcanic Alert Level from GREEN/NORMAL to YELLOW/ADVISORY. These observations represent a departure from normal background activity at Shishaldin, but do not necessarily indicate that an eruption will occur.

AVO lowered the Aviation Color Code and Volcano Alert Level to GREEN/NORMAL on February 7, 2018, citing declining seismicity and infrasound activity over the previous month.
