Eruption Type:Explosive

Description: Dall (1870) reports that Pavlof smoked in 1838. Hantke (1955) attributes this eruption to the southern vent. Jacob and Hauksson (1983) report that possibly normal explosions occurred during this eruption, or perhaps only solfataric activity.
