Description: From Dixon and others (2015): "Two earthquake swarms were detected on seismic instrumentation at Great Sitkin Volcano during 2013, one in July and one in August. Both swarms consisted of about three dozen volcanic-tectonic earthquakes (fig. 46 in original text). Satellite data acquired September 3 showed a possible thermal feature, AVO determined that this was a signal from a known hot springs at the summit of Great Sitkin (fumarolic temperatures measured at 98 degrees C in 2005, Christina Neal, USGS/AVO, oral commun., 2013). The Aviation Color Code and Volcano Alert Level remained at GREEN/NORMAL throughout the year."
