Sample ID:81Rj084C
Station ID:81ARJ84
Latitude:57.015837
Longitude:-135.683322
Datum:NAD83
Date Sampled:1981-08-27

Sample Type 2:Bulk
Text Description:
Handpicked composite of subangular to subround yellow to white highly pumiceous lapilli from lithic-bearing ash-flow tuff | (Riehle) 81ARj084: 15m high sea cliff. Top pockets of lt grey ash & pumiceous lapilli to 1cm involved with massive modern tree roots (Samp A). | Entire cliff: Overlies ash-and-white, buff, yell pumice lapilli deposit. Lapilli mainly <2cm, vary 25-50%, in variable sandy matrix. Tough. Matrix mostly pale tan, but local discont lenses to 10, 20cm thick of pale grey sand. | Near top 2-3 horizons of organic-rich (ash?); resembles bedding, but could be secondary as along latter minor faults in slump block. Radioactive Samp B. | Believe a-f tuff. Samp C just below Samp B. | What crude bedding there is seems to parallel organic horizons, which are N45-50E 55NW. Plot.
