Text Description: Lowermost accessible flow (20-30') of a package down the side of Horseshoe Mesa. Bounded at the upper margin by a red zone of oxidation. Rubble is massive at the base and becomes platy upwards. Weathers to various shades of pink. Hand sample contains 5-7% orthopyroxene <1 mm, 25-30% plagioclase 2-4 mm, and some opaques (<<1 mm) in a sugary groundmass. References: ![]() |
