SAMPLE INFO : 73ARh34
Sample ID:73ARh34
Station ID:73ARh34
Latitude:62.1184
Longitude:-144.53888
Datum:NAD83
Date Sampled:1973-00-00
Sample Type 1:Lava
Sample Type 2:Dike
Field Lithology:Dacite
Text Description:
Dacite Dikes. Generally associated with rhyolite and rhyodacite domes (Qrd, Qrdd) of first cycle of activity, but some (secs. 14 and 15, T. 3 N., R. 4 E.) may be younger and related to Snider Peak activity. All dikes sampled are medium to dark gray and sparsely porphyritic with small phenocrysts of plagioclase, hornblende, and locally rare biotite and hypersthene in a dense pilotaxitic to trachytic or dark cryptocrystalline groundmass.
