Text Description:
Plagioclase-phyric flows that get platy upwards. Fine grained, hypocrystalline, intersertal, seriate to glomeroporphyritic with a matrix of brown glass, opaque, plagioclase and orthopyroxene. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An56 - An53) are up to 3.25 mm and commonly are oscillatory zoned, and occasionally have undergone repeated episodes of resorption and overgrowth; large melt inclusions are common. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 2.25 mm and occasionally have opaque inclusions or clinopyroxene rims. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.1 mm and occasionally have orthopyroxene cores.
