Text Description:
A 10-15’ thick flow with a vesicular, rubbly top. One of a sequence of flows forming the top of the plateau. Fine grained, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, plagioclase and clinopyroxene?. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An47 - An55) are up to 3.12 mm and occasionally display sieve textured zones, oscillatory zoning, and/or resorbed edges. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 8.33 mm. Opaque phenocrysts are up to 0.5 mm. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.05 mm.
