Sample ID:93SJP41
Station ID:93SJP41
Latitude:62.44490517
Longitude:-143.1235258
Datum:NAD83
Date Sampled:1993-00-00

Text Description:
Vertical dike, trending N12°W, intruding silicic material (93SJP42) at Site 5. Fine-grained, hypocrystalline, intersertal, weakly intergranular, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of brown glass, opaque, clinopyroxene, plagioclase and orthopyroxene. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An 22- An53) are up to 1.8 mm and some have complex zoning, resorption embayments; a few have sieve textured zones. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.15 mm and some have clinopyroxene rims; a few are sieve textured. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.8 mm. There is a entirely altered phase, now opaque, red alteration, orthopyroxene and feldspar
