Text Description: Dark-greenish-gray (5 G 4/1), porphyritic andesite (S; basalt G) dike intruding Mesozoic sedimentary rocks. Major minerals are clinopyroxene and plagioclase (An 58). Abundant opaque oxides. Glomeroporphyritic phenocrysts of augite and sparse plagioclase in a groundmass of plagioclase, opaque minerals, and devitrified glass. Some augite phenocrysts are altered to calcite and uralite. Weak development of flow foliation as indicated by plagioclase laths in groundmass. Minor alteration of plagioclase phenocrysts. Associated with Yantarni volcanic center. References: ![]() |
