Text Description:
Sample of Cape Kigushimkada rift lavas. Sparsely porphyritic dacite. Phenocrysts of plagioclase (<5%, 1.6 x 0.3 mm) clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene (each <1%, 0.4 x 0.3 mm) in a vuggy, felted microcrystalline groundmass. Plagioclase phenocrysts are free of dusty or inclusion-rich zones.
