Text Description: Sample from small valley-filling lava flow exposed at the confluence of two small ice streams at about 2000 ft elevation and 3.5 km above the terminus of a small glacier. This flow is about 5 km directly southeast and downslope from Douglas summit. Porphyritic two-pyroxene andesite. Phenocrysts of plagioclase (30%, up to 1.0 x 0.3 mm), pyroxene (20%, typically 0.5 x 0.2 mm), and opaque Fe-Ti oxides in a matrix of microphenocrysts and microlites and interstitial glass.
