Gold Run tephra lies within loess and can be traced for 50 m across the section. In places, the tephra bed has been deformed into many pods, some as thick as 10 cm, as a result of loading following its deposition. From Preece et al. (2011): n.d. on deposit thickness; pumice and blocky grains; in organic silt overlying Dominion Creek Gravel; field name 1802a
