Along with Tephra A, Tephra B of the Ahklun Mountains is the most widespread of all of the regional tephra beds. Many of the glass shards are crystal-rich, containing microcrysts of plagioclase and pyroxene. The glass tends to be various shades of brown, with rare clear glass.
