Text Description:
Lava from south flank of Crater Peak. Sample CP-05 of Nye and Turner (1990). At 3300' level on major gash in Crater Peak sampling consecutive flows from top (S10=top). AA flows have blocky solid 2m cores w/ breccia and pyroclastic debris between. ~30% solid lava. Centers of flows are ~2m thick, solid with sparse curved fractures. S10, S11 are platy at base.
