Datum:NAD83
Date Sampled:1985-01-01
Sample Type 1:Lava
Sample Type 2:Block and Ash juvenile
Text Description:
Sample of juvenile block from block-and-as flows deposited on the debris avalanche formed during flank collapse of ancestral Mt. Spurr (“pyroclastic fan” of Nye and Turner (1990)). Sample PF-05 of Nye and Turner (19 90). 1200' level same canyon as S3 and S4. Large brecciated aa flow. Abundant. 5 mm cpx. Probable source of cpx-rich float. Mineralogy ~same as b&a flows S1 and S3 but lacks bright hematitic alteration.

General Mineralogy Description:
Abundant. 5 mm cpx. Probable source of cpx-rich float. Mineralogy ~same as b&a flows S1 and S3 but lacks bright hematitic alteration.
