Eruption of Pavlof Volcano as viewed from Cold Bay, located about 37 miles southwest of the volcano. In this image, ash and steam can be seen rising from pyroclastic flow(s), generated by collapse of lava spatter accumulated around the summit vent, that intermixes with glacier ice on the north flank.
