Flow lobes of a dark gray, clay-rich lahar can be seen down the length of the south glacier at Chiginagak Volcano.  Here near the base of the glacier, the gray deposits stand in stark contrast to the orange-brown older surface of the glacier.  The lahar deposits resulted from the draining of the summit caldera lake sometime in early summer 2005.
