The south glacier at Chiginagak Volcano is covered in orange, hydrothermally altered volcanic rock debris.  Flow lobes of a dark gray, clay-rich lahar can be seen down the length of the south glacier at Chiginagak Volcano.  The lahar deposits resulted from the draining of the summit crater lake sometime in early summer 2005. This photo was taken looking to the east, above the falls.
