Flow lobes of a dark gray, clay-rich lahar can be seen down the length of the south glacier at Chiginagak Volcano.  They appear dark on the white snow and ice near the summit, and gray in the foreground where they cover the orange-brown lower portion of the glacier.  The lahar deposits resulted from the draining of the summit caldera lake sometime in early summer 2005.
