Suzanne McCarthy (L) and Melissa Pfeffer (R) observe and document the central upwelling (CO2 gas) at Upper Klawasi mud volcano. The water/mud temperature on this day was 26.9°C, exactly the same as that measured in the summer of 2005. The upwelling becomes significantly more vigorous on a 6-7 minute interval, lasts for about 1 minute, and attains a height of about 1 m above the pool level.
