Photomicrograph of thin section made from sample 09RDWES301 (a 2009 Redoubt eruption sample.) The blue material is colored epoxy filling void spaces. The greenish object in the center of the slide is clinopyroxene, and is approximately 50 microns long. The rest of the slide is glass filaments (greyish threads) and plagioclase (white, larger pieces).
