Jenny Langmann, Pathfinder helicopter pilot, sits watching the upwelling from the center of the pool at Upper Klawasi mud volcano. Temperature of the pool this day is 27.1°C. The black, ooze-like substance that floats on the pool surface is an iron carbonate. This substance occurs at each of the Klawasi Group mud volcanoes, but is more prevalent at Shrub and Upper Klawasi.
