The lava dome at Great Sitkin continues to grow and is now spilling over the crater rim to the west and southwest. This multispectral short-wave infrared WorldView-3 image from 20 September 2021 shows the hottest areas in red, including the vent region and the crater overflows to the west and southwest (partially obscured by steam). The lava dome is black and snow cover is blue.
