BSE image of tephra sample erupted from Shishaldin on January 7, 2020 and collected by the Department of Transportation in Cold Bay. Dark gray crystals are plagioclase and light gray are olivine. This imaged grain has a clean glassy matrix with rounded vesicles (gas bubbles). Image taken with a JEOL 6510LV Scanning Electron Microscope.
